CFLCA proudly presents our

8th Annual Legislative Action Day

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

Calif-Capitol-crop.jpgPlease join us for an important day of education on legislative issues in the morning, and political activism in the afternoon.

Each year our state legislature proposes additional bills, often creating more obstacles for FLCs to effectively and efficiently operate their businesses and manage their personnel.  Last year these included SB 296, increasing FLC harassment training reporting in license renewals, and AB 450, which requires all employers to serve as watchdogs with major reporting requirements in event of immigration enforcement activity at their workplaces such as I-9 audits.

The morning seminar will include updates on CFLCA action to establish a PAC, review of pending state bills impacting employers, update on the federal immigration debate, and tips on how to maximize our impact in meeting with legislators and staff.  The afternoon is focused on scheduled meetings with our legislators and their staff to provide our feedback on proposed legislation.   Our activity has impacted the outcome on legislation in the past, thanks to participation from FLCs and their supporters!
