CFLCA provides required and up to date compliance and best practices information through our FLC 9-Hour programs. Online and in-person CFLCA programs are approved by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) to fulfill the requirement of nine hours of continuing education for FLC licensing and annual renewal.

Our seminars are valuable to all agricultural employers and their key staff. We encourage supervisors, human resources, and other staff to stay up to date on important issues and even offer a discounted rate to support their development. Classes offer a wide range of information, including updates on new labor laws; wage and hour requirements; Cal/OSHA requirements; worker transportation issues; effective supervisor and management training and best practices; plus the two-hour requirement and certificate on sexual harassment prevention.

Training includes:

  • Interactive instruction in small, intimate classes by recognized industry experts
  • Certificate of attendance and/or online credits submitted for licensing & renewal
  • Access to over 300 pertinent document resources

About online seminars:

  • The program is held over two days, 7:30am-12:00pm and 7:30am-1:00pm.
  • Participants must have access to a computer, tablet, or similar device with working camera and speakers and reliable internet connectivity. A technology check on the Zoom platform will be held the afternoon prior to the seminar to verify that your camera and audio systems are working. During the actual seminar we will not be able to assist with technology issues.
  • Discounts for early registration (7+ days) and for supervisors, human resources, and other staff.
  • No day of registration is available.
  • All communications (including instructions to join the online seminar) will be sent to the email address provided upon registering.
  • This program requires you to remain in an appropriate environment and safely pay attention throughout. Use good judgement – our classes may randomly be monitored by the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Participate as if you were in a regular class. Do not drive, take care of child-care issues, excessively text or email, conduct meetings or any number of other possible side activities. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in your loss of credit for the class.

About in-person seminars:

  • The program is held in a single day, 7:30am-5:45pm.
  • Discounts for early registration (7+ days) and for supervisors, human resources, and other staff.
  • If space is available, day of registration is offered at an increased rate.
  • Includes morning coffee and a boxed lunch with a 30 minute break (note any dietary restrictions when registering).
  • All communications will be sent to the email address provided upon registering.
  • All attendees must comply with the COVID-19 Safety Policy:

- Upon checking in the morning of the seminar, all attendees are required to provide proof of complete vaccination (two weeks from the last shot) and/or a negative COVID-19 test performed within 5 days prior to the event.

- All attendees are required to wear face coverings over both nose and mouth, and maintain physical distancing throughout the seminar.

- Failure to provide documentation of vaccination/negative test, or failure comply with safety regulations will result in removal from the seminar, cancellation of registration, and forfeit all registration fees.

Due to limited capacity, we are unable to grant refunds. Registration fees may be credited to a future course when requested a minimum of 72 hours in advance and will be subject to a transfer fee of $50.00. Transfer fees will be waived for CFLCA members. No shows or failure to submit requests 72 hours in advance will forfeit all registration fees.

"The class was good. I think it was better than the class in person. It was so good that I became a member of CFLCA during the class. I felt like I was able to learn more than in previous years when I did it in person. I hope to do the class again next year online and recommend other contractors to this online class."  -- Juan, JM Perez Farm Labor

"At first I was skeptical about this course being conducted online, as I feared it would be a dumbed-down version of the quality program I have come to expect from CFLCA. I was amazed at the quality of the online course and actually enjoyed it more than the in person courses I have attended in the past. The groups are smaller and it allows more time for individuals to ask questions and get more direct answers to their individual issues." -- Brian Shields, Six Rivers Development LLC

"I really enjoyed this class and I hope you continue with the web classes. Thanks for the pleasant experience and to the educators who are highly knowledgeable and provide plenty of info. If you offer these type of classes in the future, I will be attending. See you in two years, hopefully!!" -- Richard Valenzuela, FLC
